Star Shine glanced upwards at the night sky, her head bowed, the moon hung, full and healthy, reminding them of Moonlight, how she took over and got rid of her kind hearted sister, how she took many prisoner. But stars also sparkled in the sky, reminding them of those who will shine on, and bring hope for the rising sun.
Midnight pelt blending into the darkness Star Shine turned her light blue eyes to Cloudsdale. Her new home at the end of the cloud, her parents gone, and she had nothing anymore... Nothing except a taste for revenge... Yet, as the Shadowbolts pelted through the sky, she felt a small nagging to shoot up too. But she laid low. Her beautiful wings hidden. Her long mane blowing in the wind as she then sat down in the shadows. Silent like always. Quiet like always. Observant like always.

Rainbow Dash shot through the air, dodging clouds and looking behind her to see the rest of the Shadwbolts, perfectly lined up. She smirked, and sped up. The others increased their speed, but none could keep up with Rainbow Dash. "Okay, hit the stables!" she demanded, and the ponies flanked off, flying back towards the stables. Rainbow Dash smiled and zapped down to the ground. A blue pelt caught her eye, but then she saw the wings! Rainbow Dash smiled, and trotted over to the pegasus. "Are you new here? I've never seen you before, and I don't think anyone would forget those wings."

Star Shine watched Rainbow Dash her light blue eyes trailing the speedy Pegasus until she had decided to turn her attention elsewhere. Back to the stars hanging in the sky. But a light thud of a landing made her look back.
Light blue eyes surveying Rainbow Dash she shifted to the side. A bit uncomfortable with the famous stranger. Voice low and soft, she turned her shy eyes away from Rainbow Dash to look at her holves. Her strong wings shriveling back as if shy as well.
"Um...no...yes...I don't really talk to many people...I tend to lay low..." Star Shine said courteously, though her voice still sounded soft. A perhaps flaw in the proud Pegasus. But you couldn't see that side yet, she wasnt exactly and opened book. But one thing Star Shine is, is honest. She wasnt new, but she was new to Rainbow Dash, and alot of the other Pegasi in Cloudsdale, mostly because she tended to drift away from them, since her parents disappearance she had always been quiet, observant, typically hidden in a cloud watching the stars. Or down in the shadows staying out of sight.
Star Shine's reaction was the usual. Shy, sweet, soft, and gentle. A nice coating over the cruelty and revenge she seeked. Don't get her wrong, she isn't evil. But Star Shine wasnt good either. She smart, brilliant, and foolishly neutral.
"Im Star Shine," she then said looking Rainbow Dash in the eye. If this was a chance to be one of the top flyers in Cloudsdale, she wouldn't turn it down, she had the speed and power to get there, she just lacked the training. I suppose in a sense, Star Shine was also ambitious. Showing off a degree of courage to intrigue the leader of the Shadowbolts.

Rainbow Dash observed the pegasus. She seemed to be a little shy. Made her think of an old friend she once had....What was her name again? Whatever. Rainbow Dash knew that a pony with wings as big as that would be able to do some crazy flying. Maybe he would even be good enough for the Shadowbolts. Well, this Star Shine seemed to want to be challenged. With a smirk, Rainbow Dash started pacing around Star Shine, "You think you have what it takes to survive a Shadowbolts course?" When Rainbow Dash said this, she meant one of the warm up ones-but this pony didn't know that, and it would probably be hard for her since she probably lacked good training. She pulled her goggles up to the top of her head, a couple loose threads sticking up. Rainbow Dash had a hard time looking too fancy-she was a pretty casual pony.
Rainbow Dash came to a stop in front of Star Shine and looked intently at her. She liked to seem intimidating, it was all she had left. Rainbow Dash was so happy to be leader of the Shadwbolts, but sometimes she just felt empty. And if Her Majesty heard about that, Rainbow Dash would probably be kicked out from all of Equestria. She had to look even colder than her frozen over soul, a never ending black hole of conflicting emotions. She would befriend this shy pony, and see how much she could turn her into a true Shadowbolt. It would prove her loyalty, and the rumors told of her would never be told again.

Star Shine studied Rainbow Dash as she paced around her, the midnight colored pegasus shriveling away slightly while hold a strong gaze. Two conflicting personalities of Star Shine made her a bit hesitant to reply, but her voice was clear, straight, and impeccably soft yes, i do she told the Shadowbolt leader. Her large wings shifting a little.
Did Star Shine trust this Rainbow Dash? No. Not yet. Their was still a small hatred towards any pony allied with the queen who took her parents. But their was also a sense of admiration towards the one pony that could perform a sonic rainboom. can she still do it? Star Shine had no clue, she had heard that Rainbow Dash was able to do so before, back when Equestria was ruled by the good Celestia. But Star Shine had no idea of now, and was curious to see how great Rainbow Dash was now, without the support of ponies who loved her.

"Good," Rainbow Dash stated firmly. She looked over Star Shine one last time, and just like the first time, she knew that this pony had potential. Without saying a word-silence was the new fancy-Rainbow Dash took off, stopping after about half a mile. It was just a test to see if the young pony could actually use the strong wings that the fates placed upon her. If she used them to their full potential, then Star Shine might even be able to match Rainbow Dash in speed and endurance! Now that would be a wonderful Shadowbolt!
[sorry for the short post....not too much to say haha]

(It's fine, I acknowledge most of my post was her thoughts XD)
Star Shine watched Rainbow Dash shot up, and after a moment's hesitation she followed. Spreading her large wings and letting the wind brush through them, adding to her speed. Her light blue eyes glimmered as she reached upwards, for a star so distant away. But remembering her reason she arched her wings and like a bullet sped towards Rainbow Dash, she young pony, though fast and clearly a good flyer, lacked the training to reach her maximum potential. Her flying though swift and quick didn't go anywhere as near as tricks and such, young and fast, Star Shine had reached her destination in what seemed little to no time, her wings spread large and strong, her head held high and her blue eyes watching Rainbow Dash intently. is this just the warm up? a slight sneer tainted the tip of her tongue, a bit of a challenge could be caught if one listened, but those big innocent light blue eyes and that relaxed and sweet form begged to differ.

Warmup? Ha! Rainbow Dash was just stretching! Who put the thought that a little speed was warming up? Oh, she'd show her....She fiercely shook her head, then flipped backwards, staying upside down as she continued flying at a pace that was unbeatable. See if this little Star Shine had what it took! She stopped briefly, thinking about when she first challenged someone. She had done a sonic rainboom, blowing the minds of countless ponies everywhere. Ever since then, Rainbow Dash was very competitive, and she would always win-no matter how unfair her methods were. If this pony continued to match her perfectly, Rainbow Dash might just tweak the course just a tiny bit to make it a little harder. "You coming?"

Star smiled, Rainbow Dash's challenge brought up her proud side. Stretching her wings in midair she huffed blowing some of her long royal purple hair away Naturally she responded and shot forward faster than earlier. Her wings arched much like a hawks, but her speed was multiple times greater than one. The younger pony didn't catch up with the more experienced pony quickly, but the longer she flew the more speed she gained ontop of her naturally fast speed. Her wings practically absorbing distance as it became unexistant between them, Star Shine's light blue eyes determined not to wimp out. That was the greatest difference between her, and the one many thought she resembled due to her first shy character, Fluttershy. Oppose to being too shy to fly in public, or to fly really, Starshine loved pride. Her speed left a trail of faint purple that looked like star dust, the young pony was studying Rainbow Dash, adjusting her wings to be like Rainbow's but larger, she was learning quickly how to pick up her pace. How to gain speed, she was observing Rainbow closely. And for a young, shy pony, she definetely surprised everybody with this side of her. The side that was seldom present.

Rainbow Dash didn't stop flying for quite a while. She loved the feel of the moist air on her wings, the feeling of the wind rushing into her face. Rainbow Dash loved to fly, and was so happy to be a Pegasus. She started to spin in a tight circle, looking like a screw being driven into a piece of wood as she streaked through the night sky. She looked behind her and didn't see Star Shine. She looked beside her, and saw the pony almost effortlessly flying beside her. This was a good flyer! "We're almost there, watch out for the obstacles." Rainbow Dash smiled, the Shadowbolts had added obstacles to the training entrance, just to make sure that only the good flyers would make it into the arena. She effortlessly navigated the course, coming out on the other side, coming through a tiny hole in a storm cloud that was very had to get through. She was a little worried-Star Shine's wings were so large that she might not make it through. But Rainbow Dash would probably let her get away with it.

Star watched Rainbow Dash, studying her profoundly to pick up ways to dodge things, she watched her wings, the way she tilted and turned them to effortlessly fly through any obstacle. Absorbed in studying she had nearly crashed into an obstacle, Rainbow Dash's warning making her veer out of the way. Frowning slightly Star Shine focused on tilting her wings, flying through the obstacles that were in her way. Feeling a bit proud of herself she started getting more used to it, with every obstacle dodged the more graceful she looked, the more she learned, the more experienced she became. Sure her first few seemed a bit sloppy, but she was getting used to the twisting and turning and now she looked pretty good. Feeling confident Star Shine's speed increased, going faster than earlier, her wings allowing her to continue gaining speed as she speed through the air a trail of purple and midnight blue behind her like star dust, her speed was so fast that such a trail even formed around her, seeming like a sheild pushing back the air and propelling her forward. Then suddenly she saw the hole, and it was coming fast, their was no way she'd make it. Not at this speed. Pulling back she started to slow down, but her speed was still fast, studying the hole Star Shine then realized she wouldn't be able to make it through. Not flying, not with her wings this wide that was. Shooting upwards the pegasus seemed to look like a star, her speed once again getting to where she wanted to be in little to no time. High from the hole she looked down, taking one deep breathe, and fell forward. Her eyes narrowing as she went straight for the hole, her wings closed and useless as she tried to stay straight. The fall fast and quick, and soon enough she reached the cloud. Closing her eyes she counted to ten, hoping she made it through, but feeling a light wet atmosphere graze her, she opened her eyes. Opening her wings hastily and coming to a hard brake. Stumbling a little in the sky to regain balance she made her way over to Rainbow Dash, her light blue eyes looking straight at the Shadowbolt leader How was that? she asked. Knowing that the point of the obstacle was to fly through it, but also knowing her wings wouldn't permit such a thing. Explaining her fall through it.

Rainbow Dash's eyes followed every slight movement of Star Shine, every time she adjusted her wings or quickened Rainbow Dash tensed a little more. When Star Shine finally made it through the obstacles in her own little way, Rainbow Dash smiled. "Nice work. Now it's time for the real fun." She dashed up o a course that was pretty high up, expecting the new pony to be closely behind her. The altitude was pretty high, so it was harder to breathe for any newbie. Rainbow Dash, of course, was used to it, but that was because she did this course three times every morning to warm up. The course consisted of rings to fly through and clouds to round up. The final obstacle was called the Air Swirl, but everyone just knew it as the tornado. Rainbow Dash was excited to see Star Shine get to it. "Be ready for strong air resistance." She flew over to the spectator seat. "Whenever you're ready."
