Emerald trotted into the woods with Peridot. Back "in the day," it was terrible even so. Now, The Everfree Forest had grown even more sinister since the sunlight had been permanently lost. But there was a reason for going into the woods: they wanted to see Pinkie Pie. The mare may have been afraid of everyone back when she and her five friends travelled into these woods for the first time, now she welcomed visitors. She was still an agoraphobiac, but she helped as much as she could with the resistance. "Come on, Peridot! Hurry up!" She wanted to make it back home in time to tinker with her wings.

Peridot didn't even know why she agreed to this. It was probably because of that encounter with Nightmare Moon-it really got her pumped up. She didn't even know that she wanted to rebel so badly! With a great big sigh, Peridot followed Emerald into the forest. The trees were so dark and gloomy, and Peridot's dark green fur color matched them really well! She smiled-the trees weren't too bad after all. She fluttered after Emerald, her smooth wings glistening from all the due that was building up on them. "Where did Apple Jack say that we take that turn?" Peridot asked uncertainly. Apple Jack had given them a lot of instructions-Pinkie Pie lived really deep in the woods. Peridot and Emerald might just get lost!

Emerald looked around. Aha! Look! ThereĀ“s her house!" The dimly lit shack stood between three gnarled old trees which looked as if they had evil faces. Two voices came from within, one heavily accented. "That must be Zecora," Emily said as she pounded on the rusting door with her hoof.

Zecora was so close to giving up. Whatever she said Pinkie Pie would not cheer up! She tried singing Pinkie Pie's favorite songs, danced her favorite dances and ever tried her Cheer-Up-Tea! Nothing worked! She was thinking of ways to cheer her up when the bell rang. "Excuse me dear, someone is here." she said and opened the door. Standing there were Emerald and Peridot. "Come in, come in, you see, there's something wrong with Pinkie!

"What do you mean?" Asked Emily, puzzled, as she trotted in and sat down on one of the many plush chairs in the small house. AJ might want to know if there was something wrong, and she expected a full report anyway. She felt a small flutter from her back. Her wings were working, just a little bit! But there was no time to obsess over that now, she NEEDED to know what was wrong.

Peridot flew in, rushing right over to Pinkie Pie, who looked so different! Her hair was so.....calm! It horrified Peridot! She turned over to Zecora, "Is there anything else we can do for her? At all?" Peridot nudged Pinkie Pie, who looked at her with sad eyes. It was so sad. It reminded Peridot why she wanted to fight, seeing Pinkie not being herself. Ponies couldn't and wouldn't be themselves. Life was too hard, and the world was such a dark and cold place. Why would anyone want to be living in this period? The Everfree forest was always dark, so it wasn't too much of a difference. It wasn't as bad-you could almost forget that the world was eternally dark.

~~Pinkie Pie~~ Pinkie Pie looked at the two ponies who had waltzed into the cabin. She was so sad , and she knew exactly why. And she couldn't get it out of her head. Pinkie Pie looked at Zecora with big eyes, "Today is the anniversary of my newfound fear of shrubbery." She looked around her, "And I'm living in a forest." Pinkie Pie chuckled, "Pretty ironic, right?" She looked at Emerald and Peridot, then bounced up. But she was still sad-this was not a happy bounce. Her Pinkie sense was just telling her that a something was about to fall-and a flower pot fell from a shelf onto where she was laying. She smiled for a moment, then her expression brightened for some reason. To try to understand Pinkie Pie was like trying to fry a fire. "Oh, hey guys! Let's have a rebel party!" Her expression darkened again. "Wait, never mind."

Emerald's eye twitched. That was weird. "Pinkie Pie, AppleJack said she received a message from you, carried by Zecora, to send somebody to talk. So she sent us. What did you want to say?" Just then, ANOTHER flowerpot fell from a shelf and shattered. A piece of pottery bounced up and cut Emerald's cheek. She sighed. I'm not even a full grown pony yet and I already have more scars than all of the ponies in Equestria combined, she thought. She just had bad luck. But she quickly shook it off, and focused back on Pinkie Pie.

Now Zecora was frustrated. even with the help of Peridot, Emerald, and Emily, Pinkie Pie STILL wouldn't say what she wanted to. "I tried all day, but she still didn't say." Zecora said glumly. she scanned the room for a hint on what she wanted to say but she found nothing but a shrubbery by all her partying books that were covered with layered of dust. She laughed to herself because Pinkie Pie is afraid of shrubbery. "That's it, that's it," Zecora shouted, "I figured it out, if you want a clue just look all about!"

"What?" Sometimes it was really hard to understand what Zecora meant. Then she saw the small pot in the corner, containing Pinkie's last remaining shrubbery. "Pinkie Pie, is your Pinkie sense telling you anything is going to break?" She grimaced at about what she was about to do. When Pinkie nodded, staring at her through tear-stained eyes, she kicked the pot as hard as she could. The shrubbery collapsed and the limp plant was easy enough to drag outside with her weak, maturing magic. Once it was done, she fixed the pot and returned it to its corner where it first sat.

Now they're still going nowhere. All Pinkie did was smash a pot and fix it back. Her magic was getting stronger, but it was still weak. Even if she suggested a rebellion, what good would the 5 of us be against Nightmare Moon? Many of the ponies in Equestria live in fear of Nightmare Moon. "Stop making a fuss, can you please tell us?" Zecora pleaded. Pinkie Pie didn't respond she widened her eyes and looked around the room. Zecora followed her gaze to the bookshelf...

Pinkie Pie didn't speak, she didn't even make a sound as she stared at the bookshelf blankly. Her blue eyes darkening by the moment as she curled up into a shadow, the toothless Gummy biting her hoove. But Pinkie Pie didn't offer a smile, not even an attempt. And it was evident, as more time passed, the more she changed, their was a slight trace of insanity developing from dark confinement, a bench for rock breaking in the corner. The once fun loving pony had started up the family business, evidence of her trying to forget everything, go back to before Ponyville. Like a prisoner in a bastille, she had no trace of hope, no track of time. The moon was always present, the darkness always present, the fear always present. These ponies were wasting their time here, but they had a cause, a cause Pinkie Pie didn't believe in. Then again, she didn't believe in much these days...
(btw...what am I telling you guys? XD)

Now Pinkie Pie was going crazy. She'd been staring at the bookshelf 5 minutes now and nothing happened. The house was dead quiet. The only sound you could hear was Gummy biting Pinkie's hoof. Zecora was the one to break the silence."What are we doing here, Pinkie dear?". There was no response. Pinkie Pie kept staring at the bookshelf no matter what anyone did or said.

Peridot looked out at the forest. Nothing seemed wrong. This seemed like a pretty normal night! She looked at Pinkie Pie once more. Maybe she didn't have anything to say-maybe Pinkie Pie was just delusional and blurting out random things! Was this whole trip for nothing? "Maybe nothing's going to happen..."

Pinkie Pie let out a gasp. Like a bullet she grabbed Peridot and clasped her hoove over her mouth. Hush! Don't say that. She'll hear you Pinkie Pie hissed, her blue eyes looking through the darkness suspiciously. Her sudden change of character was unusual. Her eyes then reverted to the bookshelf, a hidden window being covered. Mostly because Pinkie Pie didnt want most of the windows uncovered. Gummy was still holding onto Pinkie Pie, the lame toothless alligator staring up at the ponies blankly Hush you too Gummy, nobody needs your negativity Pinkie Pie scolded in a dark whisper. Her pink hair was bland, straight and to the point, not one curl offered a sign of hope to her grip realesing over Peridot. In fact, the psycologically troubled pony didn't even notice the young pegasus anymore. Even if she was holding her.
